Two documentaries

Documentaries can be a wonderful way of sharing stories and it feels like a privilege to witness stories coming to life that we would rather avoid. Stories that challenge us, make us uncomfortable and humble us. Beauty that does not come from harmonious aesthetics but from rawness and honesty.

We went to the film festival in Sheffield to see ‘My Friend Lanre’. We came away deeply moved and elated from watching the beautiful celebration of the art, life and death of Lanre Fentihola https://filmfreeway.com/MyFriendLanre244

Chris’ story

On Monday Nov 7th we went to a showing of the film Chris’ Story which was part of Leeds Trinity University Journalism and Media week. This too was a painful watch

In 2017 Chris’ Story was shared on Mad in America https://www.madinamerica.com/2017/03/not-going-quietly/
